How to Start a Business
 











 

This two part seminar focuses on the key aspects of entrepreneurship for new business venture and current business owners. The objective of the seminar is:

  1. To gain insight into the field of entrepreneurship by understanding the characteristics and mindset of entrepreneurs and to develop an ability to identify, evaluate, and exploit opportunities within the marketplace, both for new business creation and within existing companies.
     
  2. To develop the tools necessary to act on the business opportunity by writing a business plan, building the team, identifying startup costs and financial projections, creating an innovative marketing and sales plan, and ultimately being able to lead the process of turning the opportunity into reality.
     
  3. Understanding financial statements and managing business finances as well as gaining insight into the operational side of business (manufacturing and service delivery).
     
  4. Learning the legal side of business including incorporation, intellectual property protection, negotiation, employee contracts, leases, and purchase agreements.
