Professional Background
Lawrence (Larry) S. Clark became dean of the Cameron School of Business at UNCW in July 2000. Prior to UNCW, Mr. Clark was the business school dean for six years at Sonoma State University and for nine years at Louisiana State University in Shreveport. Prior to academia, Mr. Clark was an Army Judge Advocate General.

Community Involvement
Mr. Clark is currently a board member on the New Hanover Health Network, Wilmington Downtown and the Council for Entrepreneurship Development-Coastal. He is a member of recent past Co-Chair of the Partners for Economic Inclusion.

In California, Mr. Clark was the first recipient of the Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce's award for distinguished service in support of economic development.

·    Member, Louisiana Commission on Corporations Advisory Committee.

Business Accreditation
Mr. Clark is very active with AACSB, the professional business school accreditation organization, in the peer review of other business schools. He has served on the AACSB Candidacy Committee.

 

 

 

 

 

 

About the Business School

The Cameron School of Business, accredited by AACSB, has over 65 full-time faculty. The School offers a B.S. in Business Administration (with eight majors), a B.A. in Economics, an MBA, the MSA and a MS-CSIS.

The School is a founding Member of the Transatlantic Business School Alliance, an innovative dual business degree program, with universities in France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain.

The School has launched the Cameron Executive Network to involve over 100 regional executives as mentors and classroom speakers.

The School will expand to the new CIS Building when it is completed in late 2007.  It will feature a Financial Trading Room.

The Center for Business and Economics Services provides regional economic analysis.

Academic Associations
Mr. Clark is a member of the Southern Business Administration Association and the Academy of Legal Studies in Business. He is a former President of the Southwestern Business Dean's Association.

Academic Activities 
Mr. Clark regularly teaches Labor Law Relations Law.  His textbook with McGraw-Hill, Law and Business, was a top seller for many years.  He oversaw the development of SSU's Wine Business Program in collaboration with over 100 California wineries.  He was host for nine years to the Turku (Finland) Executive MBA Program students for their U.S. capstone learning experience.  He was twice a recipient of the LSU-S Outstanding Faculty Award.
