Dear Prospective or Returning Client:

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our website. It is our hope that you will find your visit to our website rewarding and you come away with a strong understanding of our organization and the services we provide. If you should have further questions, please contact us via e-mail or by phone at (910) 962-3744.

At the SBTDC at UNCW, we are committed to achieving extraordinary results each year through the services we provide to the seven counties that we serve in Southeastern North Carolina: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow, and Pender. Over the years, we've assembled a group of professionals with a vast array of experience and talent. Please take a moment to meet our staff by visiting the bios page.

The SBTDC provides management counseling and education services to small and mid-sized businesses. We help established firms, high-growth companies, and start-up businesses meet today's challenges, manage change, and plan for the future. Our services are well defined and designed to meet our clients' needs:

  • Our primary focus is management counseling, addressing issues including financing, marketing, human resources, operations, business planning, performance analysis, and feasibility assessment.
  • We also provide targeted, research-based educational products which are focused on change management, strategic performance, and leadership development for your management team, employees, and board members.

The SBTDC offers Special Market Development services in Government Procurement, International Business Development, Marine Trade Services, Technology Development and Transfer and Corporate Services. Along with specialized services, we provide educational products that include Strategic Needs Assessment, Strategic Facilitation, The SymmeTree Simulation (Executive Education Program) NxLevel Entrepreneurial Training for Start-Up and Existing Businesses, and Leadership Development and Management Performance Workshops.

Our State Executive Director, Scott Daugherty, states it well in his Welcome address on the SBTDC's Web site at www.sbtdc.org:

Businesses that have worked with the SBTDC have experienced a phenomenal 85-percent survival rate (when the national average is less than 40-percent over a six-year period). And our clients typically grow five times faster than the average for North Carolina small businesses.

The SBTDC envisions a new economic future for North Carolina using innovation and its focus on growth-oriented emerging companies and existing businesses to help drive economic growth and expand prosperity.

All of us at the SBTDC at UNCW, gain great satisfaction in witnessing the growth and success of businesses.

We look forward to witnessing your development and learning of your success.
