I. INTRODUCTION TO Small Business & Technology Development Center (SBTDC) at UNCW
The SBTDC is a business development service of The University of North Carolina system, operated in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
SBTDC Services
We provide management counseling and educational services to small and mid-sized businesses in all of North Carolina's 100 counties.
We help established firms, high-growth companies and start-up business meet today's challenges, manage change, and plan for the future.
We have over 50 management counselors in 17 offices across North Carolina each affiliated with the University of North Carolina system.
Our services focus on management counseling, addressing issues including financing, marketing, human resources, operations, business planning, and feasibility assessment.
We provide targeted, research-based educational products that are focused on change management, strategic performance, and leadership development for management teams, employees and board members. In addition, we offer Special Market Development assistance in government procurement, international business development, Boating Industry Services and technology development/commercialization.
This office, which is based at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, serves a seven-county area that includes Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Onslow and Pender counties.

All SBTDC services are confidential.
No Fees
No fees will be charged by the SBTDC for counseling services provided.
No Liability
In exchange for free counseling, no claims may be made against the state of NC, The University of NC, the SBTDC, its staff or other resources employed in connection with these services.
Service Survey
In about 60 days, you will receive a brief questionnaire from the SBTDC headquarters, requesting your opinions about the counseling services you received. We will appreciate your thoughtful responses to their inquiries.
